Bills sign OL Will Clapp to one-year deal
Clapp has been in the NFL for seven seasons since entering the league out of Louisiana State University. He played his first five years with the New Orleans Saints before spending the last two years with the Los Angeles Chargers.
A knee injury in Week 15 cut Clapp’s 2023 season short, but he played in 14 games with 11 starts before sustaining the season-ending injury. In total, Clapp made 14 starts in 31 games across his two seasons with the Chargers.
Clapp, who has experience at both guard and center, adds depth to a Bills interior offensive line that moves forward without center Mitch Morse (released, signed with Jaguars) and versatile backup Ryan Bates (traded to Bears).
Offensive lineman Will Clapp has joined the Buffalo Bills.
The team has announced that the 28-year-old has signed a one-year deal in Buffalo.
Clapp, a former seventh-round pick in 2018, is a versatile lineman and has experience playing both center and guard.
Most recently, Clapp played the past two seasons for the Los Angeles Chargers. He entered the NFL with the New Orleans Saints. During his two seasons with the Chargers, Clapp played in 31 games and made 14 starts.
A 6-foot-5, 311-pound lineman, Pro Football Focus graded Clapp a slightly below average 56.7 overall mark during the 2023 season. His career-best PFF grade was a 59.9 in 2019.
Clapp’s versatile will likely allow him to compete for a depth position on the Bills offensive line.
