AC MILAN OFFERED PSG PLAYER BY AGENT AS REPLACEMENT FOR OLIVIER GIROUD
AC Milan will likely need to enter the striker market this summer, as Olivier Giroud is reportedly in discussions with LAFC regarding a possible transfer. The Serie A side could pursue Paris Saint-Germain’s Gonçalo Ramos.
This week, the Portuguese striker’s name surfaced as a potential target for the Italian club. Additionally, the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is ready to propose Ramos to replace the French striker.
Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo spoke to RadioRossonera and noted that AC Milan has long had an admiration for the PSG striker since he was at SL Benfica. As a result, the interest would be there for Ramos.
“From what we know, in a few weeks, there will be a discussion with Milan,” Longo said (h/t Sempre Milan). “He’s a player that the Rossoneri already liked from his time at Benfica. I don’t exclude that Milan’s door to talk about him is open.
“But we need to understand how a possible negotiation can be organised because PSG tend to be hostile to selling players on loan to top clubs. I think Milan would only consider Ramos on loan or on economically advantageous terms.”
In November, the French champions confirmed their activation of the clause, agreeing to pay the Portuguese giants a potential €80 million, including add-ons, and securing him with a contract until 2028, according to GOAL.
Should PSG sell Ramos, they’d likely want to recoup that sum, so the question over the next few months will be whether the Parisians want to sell and whether AC Milan could pay a sum close to €80 million.
