Texas’ Arch Manning will not opt to appear in EA Sports college football
EA Sports’ College Football 25 is set for summer release
Arch Manning, the quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, might not have the opportunity to start for the club for at least another season.
Fans may have had the opportunity to select him as their starting quarterback in College Football 25 when it was released by EA Sports this summer, provided he chose to participate. However, it doesn’t seem like that will happen.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning disclosed his intentions for the next college football video game on Monday.
In contrast to almost 10,000 other college football players, Manning has allegedly decided to sit out this round. Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods claims that he is concentrated on playing football in real life.
“Texas redshirt quarterback Arch Manning has informed me multiple times that he will not choose to play EA Sports College Football 25. Richardson stated, “I’m told Arch is concentrated on playing football on the field.
The news has sparked a lot of debate over the distraction he’s just given himself, but an ESPN article offered some justification for his absence from the game.
According to a report by ESPN’s Mark Schlabach, it wasn’t due to the money as to why Manning opted out, which has become a popular theory. It was instead due to his status on the depth chart.
“Manning, who attempted only five passes in one game as Quinn Ewers’ backup in 2023, wanted to wait until ‘he was the guy’ at Texas, the source said,” Schlabach wrote.
For those who are skeptical about the money situation, it is worth noting that Manning hasn’t taken any NIL money during his brief college tenure despite being viewed as one of the most marketable players in all of college sports. His lone NIL deal was with Panini America to sell his exclusive trading card, which netted over $100,00, all of which he donated to charity.
Manning is the youngest quarterback of the Manning family, which has produced Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning. He attempted just five passes during his freshman year as the third quarterback on the depth chart, but will likely be taking over for Texas in 2025 after Quinn Ewers leaves for the NFL.
He would have received $600 and a copy of the game if he had chosen to participate in it.
