The coach’s team announced his son’s birth with a clever tweet
Sean McVay, the head coach of the Rams, has become a parent.
The 37-year-old coach welcomed his first child with wife Veronika, 33, on Tuesday, October 24. He made a special announcement about the birth of their kid on Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Rams informed supporters of the news via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“LA Rams Transactions: Delivered Jordan John McVay,” the post said.
McVay later spoke at a press conference about the inspiration behind his son’s name, revealing that he was named after the coach’s grandfather. “It is, yeah. His original due date was…kinda eerie how things work out. His original due date was when my grandfather passed a year ago on the 31st.” “Which is just pretty special and if you don’t believe in a higher power there’s certain things that occur that man, you just realize there’s something special going on,” said the new dad. McVay’s grandfather is San Francisco 49ers executive John McVay.
“I come from a family of faith, I’m a man of faith and so thought that was really…you know the influence that you guys know my grandfather had on me, but also our family, he had a special relationship with Veronika as well.”
“I therefore reasoned that it was only fitting that he bear my grandfather’s middle name and be named after him, as his legacy endures.” “I’m sure he’s grinning down from yesterday’s events,” McVay said.
Four months after leading the Rams to a Super Bowl triumph, in June 2022, McVay and his wife celebrated their engagement in 2019.

McVay and his wife got engaged in 2019 and tied the knot in June 2022, four months after McVay led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory.
