I signed a new $87m contract with Philadelphia Eagles – I’m going to treat myself to a new lawn mower
Despite a huge new contract, LANDON Dickerson appears to have some quite modest financial aspirations.
It’s the highest-paying guard contract in NFL history.
During a news appearance, Dickerson was questioned if he could comprehend his current level of wealth and if he had any specific intentions for the money.
Dickerson remarked, “I have a financial advisor for a reason.”
“I might acquire a new lawnmower; I’m not sure. That is something I have been researching.”
A former second-round pick in 2021, Dickerson was heading into the last year of his rookie contract.
The Eagles team is going to look very different in the 2024 season due to the retirement of Jason Kelce.
And Dickerson is expected to line up to Kelce’s likely replacement in the team, Cam Jurgens.
In three seasons, the 25-year-old has twice made it to the Pro Bowl.
Dickerson commented, “It just shows a lot of respect, how much trust they have in me to continue growing as a player, develop, and do good things for this team and this city,” in reference to his hefty new contract.
“I think I can definitely step up and take on more of a leadership position as I enter my fourth year.
The fact that I was extended truly demonstrates the regard and potential Howie Roseman, the coaches, and I all hold for me as a player.
“That only makes me want to continually try to get better, keep improving on my game day after day.”
The Eagles will make an effort to put their worrying 2023 season finale behind them during the offseason.
After trailing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 11-6 on November after leading 10-1 in November, they were soundly defeated on Wild Card Weekend.
