Bills star Stefon Diggs posts cryptic message amid free agency frenzy
Diggs signed a four-year, $96 million contract extension in 2022
This offseason, Stefon Diggs has made headlines once again due to a mysterious social media post that raises additional questions about his future with the Buffalo Bills.
During the rush of free agency, Diggs wrote on X that he was “Ready for watever.”
On social media, a few users also noticed that he had altered the profile image at the top of his page to a goodbye wave.
The statement comes in response to remarks Diggs made at the Pro Bowl last month, when he expressed uncertainty about his future with the Bills.
“I’m not sure. In an interview with Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network, he stated, “I feel like I have no control over money or anything of that kind.”
“I have a lengthy offseason ahead of me. I don’t currently have any surprises in store for you in the future.”
BEFORE THE 2024 SEASON, BILLS MAKE IMPORTANT ROSTER CHANGES IN THE CAP-CUTTING FRENZY
From the end of the previous campaign to the beginning of offseason training, the connection between Diggs and the Bills has been a major topic of discussion. The Bills’ required minicamp began, and Diggs was conspicuously absent. Head coach Sean McDermott later confirmed that Diggs was excused from participating.
Diggs declined to provide specifics during a news conference with the media at the time, although he did say that the problems appeared to have been fixed.
“As men, we talked it out and said everything that needed to be said. Everyone concerned,” Diggs remarked. “It’s all water under the bridge, and now we’re back to work.”
However, it seems like there are still some unresolved problems following another dismal postseason run and worries about production.
Diggs’ 2024 salary from a four-year, $96 million contract deal signed in 2022 becomes fully guaranteed this weekend, according to NBC Sports. This season, Diggs’ salary will count against the cap at $27.8 million.
