Buffalo Bills to make big splash? Team named as landing spot for versatile defensive lineman
Although it doesn’t appear like the Buffalo Bills will make a significant impact in free agency, one reporter has the team connected to a defensive lineman with versatility.
According to Matt Barrows of The Athletic on Wednesday, Arik Armstead was released by the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers beat writer went on to add a sentence that made Bills Mafia fans all across the world take notice.
“Watch Buffalo for potential landing grounds.”
Arik Armstead was released by the 49ers, the organization confirmed.
The 30-year-old Armstead is a versatile defensive lineman. He is most effective in Buffalo as a 3-tech, however he may line up at any position along the defensive line. Armstead amassed 302 total tackles with 33.5 sacks, 43 tackles for loss, and 88 quarterback hits in his nine seasons with the 49ers.
Armstead’s talents will probably be much sought after by Buffalo, so it will be fascinating to see what kind of deal the Bills are able to provide the defensive lineman.
Something that would be advantageous to the Bills? The defensive lineman’s significant other is connected to Buffalo. The wife of Armstead is a Hornell native who graduated from the University of Buffalo.
