Karter Knox announcing decision on Saturday
This weekend marks the end of Karter Knox’s recruitment.
Travis Branham of 247 Sports reports that Knox will make his commitment known on Saturday night.
Expect a decision to be made between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m. ET on YouTube during the halftime of the Overtime Elite Finals Game 2 broadcast, which begins at 7 p.m. ET.
For the 2024–25 season, he will choose between playing for the South Florida Bulls, Louisville Cardinals, Kentucky Wildcats, or returning to Overtime Elite.
A 6-foot-8, 211-pound wing out of Riverdale (FL), Knox is a consensus top-25 recruit ranked as high as 14th overall in the class of 2024 at Rivals, which also has him ranked third among small forwards.
Though no longer among his finalists, Knox holds additional offers from Texas, Kansas, Auburn, LSU, and Illinois, among others. He is the younger brother of Kevin Knox, who played at Kentucky for the 2017-18 season before being a lottery selection in the 2018 NBA Draft to the New York Knicks.
Will Kentucky win out for this top recruit, or will Knox head elsewhere? There hasn’t been any buzz for the Cats in recent weeks, but stranger things have happened.
We’ll find out soon enough!
According to sources who spoke with 247Sports, Karter Knox, the 2024 class’s top recruit overall, will make his announcement on Saturday, March 9.
At the half of Game 2, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound small forward from Atlanta, Georgia, will choose between playing for Kentucky, Louisville, South Florida, or returning to Overtime Elite live on the Overtime Elite broadcast.
At this time, having visited every campus and having close relationships to all of the options, Knox is fully informed about every institution.
Regarding his ties to Kentucky, Knox is the younger brother of Kevin Knox Jr., a former forward for Kentucky who was under John Calipari’s coaching from 2017 to 2018.
Kenny Payne, who is no longer at Kentucky, served as Knox Jr.’s primary recruiter and mentor.
