Cowboys owner Jerry Jones ordered to take DNA test in paternity case
Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, was ordered by a judge to undergo a paternity test in order to ascertain if he is the biological father of a woman who filed a lawsuit against him last year.
The Dallas Morning News was able to get records that stated the decision was reached during a hearing earlier this month. According to court records, Alexandra Davis, 27, has stated that DNA testing has shown her mother’s ex-husband is not her father.
Now that Alex is in a position where she genuinely doesn’t have to live in dread or hide the truth, maybe she will finally be able to find some peace. We hope that other families will also benefit from the judge upholding the law in a similar way. Kris Hayes, Davis’s lawyer said
In the 2022 lawsuit, Davis said in court documents that she was conceived after her mother, Cynthia Davis, and Jones had a relationship in the mid-1990s. An agreement was reached where Jones would provide support financially to Davis but not acknowledge or identify publicly that Jones was Alexandra Davis’ father.
In 2023, Davis filed a defamation lawsuit against Jones, claiming that Jones and two other people intentionally attempted to expose her as a “extortionist” and “shakedown artist.” After being partially dismissed in October, the lawsuit was refiled in November.
