Supervisors at World Snooker to examine Ronnie O’Sullivan’s profanity-filled news conference when he called Ali Carter, the man he defeated 10-7 in The Masters final, “a nightmare” and “not a nice person”; Carter maintains that O’Sullivan’s
Ronnie O’Sullivan’s remarks, according to Ali Carter, “make no difference to me” as World Snooker executives assess the Masters champion’s foul-mouthed press conference in London on Sunday.
After learning that Carter had been accused of “snotting on the floor” by his opponent in the Masters final, O’Sullivan verbally attacked Carter, calling him “a nightmare” and “not a nice person” during his 10-7 triumph at Alexandra Palace.
Regarding Carter, O’Sullivan had stated: “He needs to get his f*****g life together. I will no longer avoid it, tread carefully near someone of that kind. He is an absolute nightmare.
It’s a nightmare to play snooker against someone like him. He is not a kind individual. He leaves a bad impression on everyone at the table.
“I don’t give a s**t; I’ve had my say. I’m done talking about it. You and everyone else are aware of his personality. He has problems. Why is he having problems with me, f*****g? I refuse to accept it.”
Tuesday night, O’Sullivan defeated China’s Pang Junxu 4-2 in his World Grand Prix opener. Following the match, he reaffirmed his intention to take a vacation.
The 48-year-old stated in an interview with ITV4 that “I will definitely be missing a few tournaments after this.”
To be honest, I shouldn’t have really come here, but since everything is well, I figured I would just show up. Looking back, I should not have gone.
Exhibitions are now my primary focus. I have to make time for my sponsors because I have a contract that pays $25 per year. I have 25 to 30 days with them, which equates to two months of crucial time for me.
