Bellinger’s situation is still very much a Cubs or bust. The New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants, who were supposed to be the Cubs’ primary rivals for Bellinger’s signing, haven’t demonstrated a willingness to pay the asking price. Though it appears that Bellinger’s worth will decline to the point where a reunion with the Cubs is unavoidable, the Giants and perhaps the Toronto Blue Jays could still be engaged.
