Arizona Basketball is the new number one in the AP poll.
For Arizona Basketball, it was yet another exciting week! Following a couple upsets and the Wildcats’ home victory over Colgate, Arizona was expected to rise in the most recent Top 25 rankings.
And the Wildcats topped the most recent AP Top 25 Poll after their decisive victory over Colgate! Following their defeat, Arizona overtook Purdue to become this week’s top team, making headlines on Monday afternoon.
After upsets of No. 2 Duke, No. 21 Michigan State, and others in the first few weeks of the season, Arizona is the clear favorite in college basketball.
Arizona is now undefeated in the current campaign and at its highest position since the 2013–14 campaign.
We’re hoping for another fantastic week this week, but over the next few weeks, Arizona Basketball should face a lot of challenges!
As of right now, Arizona Basketball is the only basketball team from the Pac-12 to be ranked. This is the first time Arizona has been ranked #1 since the 2013–14 campaign!
But Arizona will face a great deal of testing over the coming weeks. The Wildcats now have an even larger target on their back as games against No. 23 Wisconsin (Dec. 9), No. 2 Purdue (Dec. 16), No. 22 Alabama (Dec. 20), and No. 10 FAU (Dec. 23) draw near.
The Wildcats will need to maintain their focus now that they are ranked #1, especially because the competition is getting much tougher!
