Arizona announces its football schedule for…
The Wildcats’ first season in the Big 12 Conference following their departure from the Pac-12 will be in 2024. Take a peek at their schedule below
TUCSON, Arizona — The conference announced Arizona’s schedule on Tuesday morning, setting the stage for the Wildcats’ inaugural Big 12 Conference campaign under head coach Brent Brennan.
Prior to the release of the league schedule, the Wildcats’ first three non-conference matchups were set.
Arizona’s season opener against the Mountain West Conference’s New Mexico Lobos is set for August 31 at Arizona Stadium in Tucson.
The next week, on September 7, the Wildcats’ only game against a team from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) in 2024 will take place at home against Northern Arizona.
The next week will mark Arizona’s first road trip and last non-conference game, which adds a little oddity to their schedule.
Arizona’s last non-conference matchup is really with one of their new conference rivals, Kansas State Wildcats, at Manhattan, Kansas. This meeting and one in Tucson in 2025 will still be considered non-conference games because they were announced in 2016, a long time before the most recent round of conference realignment.
Although the precise date of Arizona vs. Kansas State’s 2024 match has not yet been revealed, it is expected to take place on September 13 or 14.
After the game, Arizona will have their first bye week of the season.
On September 28, Arizona will begin its nine-game conference campaign by traveling to Salt Lake City to play the Utah Utes.
On October 5, the Wildcats will play the Texas Tech Red Raiders at home. On October 12, they will go back to Provo, Utah, to play the BYU Cougars.
After that, Arizona will host back-to-back home games on October 19 against the Colorado Buffaloes and October 26 against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
After that, Arizona will travel across the nation to play UCF in Orlando.
