Despite ending the Green Bay Packers’ season last Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers have a very bright future ahead of them. For the youngest lineup in the league, things will undoubtedly get more intriguing with the potential addition of Ezekiel Elliot to the roster.
People witnessed how Jordan Love, the team’s quarterback, was given the keys to the kingdom during the Packers’ successful season. This is an unexpected outcome coming from a transaction that sent Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets, since Love wasn’t anticipated to be this good straight soon.
But in their last game against the 49ers, the Packers made several very important errors, including Love’s ill-advised pass to no one and Anders Carlson’s unsuccessful kick. Green Bay ultimately lost out on the opportunity to go to the NFC title game and maybe the Super Bowl as a result of these mistakes.
When the Packers have the opportunity to add additional quality and experience, either through the draft or by signing free agents, that may all change come football season.
Ezekiel Elliott Is Expected to Join the Green Bay Packers for the Upcoming Season
NFL pundit Maurice Jones-Drew believes that ers look to be a good landing point for Ezekiel Elliot following his time with the New England Patriots.
His free agent forecast for the next campaign:
In his first season away from Dallas, Elliott had the worst statistical season of his career, but I mostly attribute it to being a part of a boring Patriots offense that never really established its identity behind Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe at the center. With New England likely on the verge of a massive rebuild, the veteran is probably heading somewhere. However, with AJ Dillon, Green Bay’s bruiser back, about to hit free agency, he may sign a low-end deal with a youthful Packers squad. Zeke and Aaron Jones would be a great combination, adding strength to the run game.
Elliot’s addition to the roster is undoubtedly advantageous. It will be interesting to watch in the summer whether the Packers are able to pull off this acquisition. Regardless, this is a target that Green Bay should sign.
