The Detroit Lions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers playoff game is scheduled for Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. ET (12:00 p.m. PT). In addition to airing on NBC, Peacock, Sling TV, and other platforms will live stream the event.
Quarterback Jared Goff is making sure to shut out the noisy talking heads on TV as the Detroit Lions get ready to play in the NFC championship game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, which is one of the biggest games in the team’s history.
In an interview with Doug Karsch and Scott Anderson on WXYT-FM 97.1 on Tuesday morning, Jared Goff stated he had no time to worry about Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless or any other national daytime TV personality that discusses sports. After the local station interview, Goff was asked by the hosts if the Lions had any quotes or material for their bulletin board that called them out. In response, Goff asked Karsch and Anderson if they had any in the queue. Karsch started reading a tweet from Bayless, but the Lions quarterback interrupted him with, “No, I don’t give a damn about anything he says,” as soon as the Fox analyst’s name was spoken. You can now end the session. You can ignore anything those people say on daytime television.
Karsch and Anderson laughed at the response, and they ended their interview with Goff not long after. Following the interview, Karsch stated that he had only intended to discuss bulletin board stuff in general, but that Goff had explicitly urged him to bring up the Bayless tweet.
Longtime Fox sports talk show presenter Skip Bayless wrote on social media during the Lions’ 31-23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, claiming the team has little chance of defeating the 49ers to go to the Super Bowl.

Bayless tweeted, “Congrats, Lions. You have won the right to get blown out at San Francisco. But hey, great year.” The tweet was sent during the final moments of the game after the Lions took a 31-17 lead with just over six minutes left.
As is his tendency, Bayless did not stop tweeting until the very conclusion of the game. He congratulated the city of Detroit after the win, then went on to criticize the Chiefs and Bills during their game.
