The Pro Football Retired Players Association has announced that Green Bay will host the first-
January 23, 2024, ARLINGTON, VA /PRNewswire/ — Taking place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Hotel Northland in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA), a nationwide organization that creates programs and benefits for retired NFL players, has announced the details of its first-ever ‘PFRPA Champions Luncheon’. The purpose of the event is to honor former NFL players who are having a good influence and those who have significantly impacted the community of former players.
Three recipients will receive the PFRPA Champions Award as part of the celebration, which will honor and recognize their work as advocates for the communities they support. The 2024 recipients of the award are:

Darrell Thompson, a former running back for the Green Bay Packers and PFRPA board chair, shared his pleasure about recognizing Dworak, Jacke, and Sydney for their outstanding efforts.
“These three individuals have demonstrated outstanding advocacy and support, showing what it means to deeply care for your work and what it means to be a champion for others,” Thompson stated. “Their dedication and leadership make them highly deserving of the PFRPA Champions Award, and I am thrilled to honor them in Green Bay.”
Apart from her position with the Packers, Dworak is the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Educational Foundation’s Chair of the Board of Trustees. She also serves on the boards of The Angel, Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity, and Rawhide Youth Services.
Sydney, a three-time Super Bowl champion and former Green Bay Packers running back, started My Brother’s Keeper in 2003. Thousands of adolescents and men have benefited from the male mentoring program by receiving help in successfully overcoming obstacles in their lives.
According to PFRPA Executive Director Joe Agbasi, this will be the organization’s first-ever event since it was founded in 2016.
“At PFRPA, we represent a membership base that has given so much to the game of football, and many continue to give in fulfilling ways after the game,” Agbasi stated. “Since our group advocates on behalf of these former NFL players, we think it’s critical to recognize and honor their achievements as well as those of individuals whoPFRPA is committed to improving the lives of individuals who made contributions to the game and is a champion for retired NFL players. Through its leadership and commitment, PFRPA—the first court-established organization for retired NFL players—has made it its purpose to uphold and protect the legacy of former NFL players. PFRPA creates health and welfare initiatives specifically for former NFL players through the Greater Good Fund, its 501(c)(3) charity organization. The PFRPA’s licensing agency, Football Greats Alliance, creates alliances to generate substantial income for former NFL players and contribute funds to the Greater Good Fund, which supports all retired players.
