Over the weekend, The Corner Bank in Toronto hosted twenty-seven players from the United States and Canada to participate in the first of three tournaments in the series. Two spots in the Global Play-Off are up for grabs for the top two players in the Americas series in additional events held in the United States and Brazil in February and March.
Puopolo, a past Pan-American Seniors champion and Canadian national winner, defeated Charlie Brown, Alan Whitfield, and Matt Fifield to advance to the final in his native Canada, lost just one frame to Brown along the way.
Williams, on the other side of the draw, defeated Will Hamilton handily before winning 4-2 against Sahil Nayyar and Cheukyin Kwan to set up a Sunday final matchup with Puopolo.
Puopolo, who competed in the World Seniors Championship at the Crucible Theatre in May of last year, jumped off to a 4-0 lead and went on to win the match easily, 5-1, to give herself an early advantage in the competition for the Global Play-Off in Bosnia & Herzegovina in March, where three
Announcing today is the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association Group of Organizations (WPBSA), which will carry four World Snooker Tour cards with the debut of WPBSA Q Tour Global.
This season’s WPBSA Q Tour Global will have regional tournaments staged all over the world for the first time, following two successful seasons centered in the UK and continental Europe. Each of these events will grant admission to an extended Q Tour Playoff at the end of the season.
The redesigned WPBSA Q Tour UK/Europe will follow the same schedule as previous seasons, with an extended schedule of seven tournaments spread out over the course of the season.
Players will once again seek to end the season as the top rated player and win a spot on the World Snooker Tour. The circuit will feature four tournaments in the UK and three more in mainland Europe.
There is a guarantee that the top 16 players, including each event winner, will make it to the Q Tour Global Playoff at the end of the season.
With a prize pool that has been expanded to over £14,000, each Q Tour UK/Europe tournament will welcome players from all around the world. 48 players (see below) will be seeded through, same like in prior seasons.

Instructions for admission will be sent immediately to the 48 qualifying participants via email. Players will be assured a spot in the last 64 of every UK/European event by paying a £525 block entry fee by 12:00 pm on July 28.
After this date, we will get in touch with more participants as needed until we have 48 confirmed players for each event, depending on how many players have accepted and paid for their spot on the Q Tour UK/Europe. The deadline for these players to claim their spot is August 1 at 12:00 p.m.

As part of the anticipated international development of Q Tour, the WPBSA Q Tour Global will include regional Q Tour Series’ held globally for the first time.
The WPBSA invites reputable organizations and national federations that share our aim for top-notch amateur competitions to show interest in hosting Q Tour events.
The top players from these Regional Q Tour tournaments will earn a spot in the Q Tour Global Playoff, where they will compete with players from the Q Tour UK/Europe, as part of the WPBSA’s commitment to the global expansion of our sport.
In order to participate in Q Tour events, athletes from regions outside than the UK and Europe must reside there for a minimum of six months.The WPBSA Q Tour Global Playoff will be relaunched for the 2023/24 season with three places on the World Snooker Tour to be won for the first time. As in previous seasons, the Playoff will include the winners of Q Tour UK/Europe events, followed the highest ranked remaining players up to 16 players. They will be joined by a further eight players from regional Q Tour events held around the world. Should these places not be taken, they will be filled by additional players from the Q Tour UK/Europe Rankings.
