LINCOLN, Nebraska — Under coach Matt Rhule, there have been numerous roster changes for the Nebraska football team in less than 14 months.
Every position group seemed rejuvenated; some, like wide receiver and quarterback, had all-new players, while others, like defensive back and offensive line, had a combination of returning players and newcomers.
The Huskers have unquestionably strengthened their depth. They have, in part, profited from a shifting sports scene that has made the 85-player scholarship cap less noticeable.
A small number of new applicants, past walk-ons, and graduates may be eligible for NIL payments, which are the equivalent of scholarships, for programs with strong NIL operations. College athletics is, in fact, a whole different world.
