Aidan Hutchinson of the Lions is one of the most effective pass rushers in the NFL this year. In addition, Hutchinson claims he’s just getting hotter as the Lions get ready for what they hope will be a lengthy postseason run, coming off of his first Pro Bowl nomination this week and a season-high three-sack performance in Dallas.
feel like I’m always a guy who as I get deeper and deeper into the season, that’s when I kind of start to heat up a little bit, he stated.I feel like this has just happened these past few years, my last year at Michigan, last year and then this year, I definitely heat up later in the season.”
Hutchinson recorded three sacks apiece in victories over Penn State and Ohio State during his last season at Michigan. It contributed to the Lions selecting him with the second overall choice in the previous NFL Draft.
Hutchinson recorded two sacks on Aaron Rodgers in Week 18 of last year at Green Bay, which helped Detroit defeat the Packers 20–16. He then recorded those three sacks in Detroit’s contentious one-point defeat to the Cowboys last week in Dallas.
This season, Hutchinson has 9.5 sacks, 20 quarterback hits, and 64 hurries. In the NFL, his 93 total pressures are second only to Micah Parson of Dallas (102). In addition, he has 11 tackles for loss and has intercepted seven passes.
