Two further Longhorns players make their NFL Draft debuts in 2024.
STIN, Texas — There will be two more Texas football standouts in the NFL.
Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II and standout running back Jonathan Brooks declared for the 2024 NFL Draft on Wednesday.
Hallettsville native Brooks, a third-year running back, finished his Texas career with 18 touchdowns overall in 22 games. Before rupturing his ACL during the Longhorns’ victory against TCU in November, he was having a breakout 2023 season. Fortunately for Brooks, he should be cleared to play by training camp in July, according to sources.
Murphy, meanwhile, announced his plans on social media following Texas’s College Football Playoff victory. The native of North Texas also wore the burnt orange for three years, excelling as a defensive lineman for the Longhorns.
