The impact wide receiver Xavier Worthy had on the University of Texas is difficult to express.
Worthy is a warrior on the field, a committed athlete, and an incredibly hard worker. Throughout the last part of his Texas career, he battled numerous bothersome injuries and never once voiced a complaint.
Despite suffering an ankle injury in 2023 and a fractured hand in 2022, he nevertheless finished the season with 1,000 receiving yards. Worthy persevered in the program amid hardships and was instrumental in Texas’s 2023 victory.
He personified what it meant to be a Longhorn and was the first recruit hired by head coach Steve Sarkisian upon taking the helm at Texas.
