- A recent state law permits vineyards to remain open until the end of the bar.
- WBAY, Green Bay, Wisconsin With a new year comes an extended curfew; wineries in the state are not required to close at nine o’clock at night. A new state rule that went into effect this year allows them to remain open until bar time.It puts wineries on an even playing field as they compete not just with the usual pub scene but also with special events. The Captain’s Walk’s owner in Green Bay, Donna Mcvey, expressed her excitement over these expanded hours.According to her, since 2007, the winery has only ever been owned by the licensee, thus 9:00 PM is the latest time she may be open. She may now be reached until 2:30 AM on weekends and 2 AM on weekdays.
