Raiders receive a $230 million star quarterback in a blockbuster trade proposal.
This offseason, the Las Vegas Raiders will probably need a new quarterback. Jimmy Garoppolo, a seasoned player, is anticipated to be discharged, and rookie Aidan O’Connell has not performed consistently.
It will be far more difficult to acquire a top quarterback if the Raiders lose their current two-game winning run and fall out of the top 10 in the draft. The club has improved significantly since the start of the season, and Antonio Pierce, the acting head coach, has the defense operating at a very high level. The Raiders could decide that bringing in a seasoned veteran is the best course of action given the offensive prowess and defensive comeback.
Although Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals is a quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas may also take into consideration the trade possibility of Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields. Although the former top choice is among the NFL’s most exciting quarterbacks, he has struggled with consistency and injuries.
The Cardinals are obviously a rebuilding team and should have a top-three choice in the draft this year. By moving Murray and selecting one of the best quarterbacks in the draft, they could start again. Murray’s $230.5 million, five-year contract, however, makes it challenging to trade him. Since Arizona is probably two or three years away from contending for the playoffs, they may take on part of his money in exchange for a better return in a trade.
In the event that Murray plays at least 75% of offensive snaps, the Raiders will provide their 2024 second-round selection in addition to a conditional 2025 third-round pick that becomes a second-round pick.
