Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, appears to have hinted at a possible move to Chelsea.
In an attempt to find a new center-forward, Mauricio Pochettino has connected the Blues to a high-profile transfer for the 25-year-old.
Even though Osimhen committed his future to Napoli by signing a contract extension last week, which keeps him with the Serie A team until June 2026, there is still a lot of speculation about his future.
Osimhen’s new contract is said to contain a release clause of about £112 million. Chelsea is rumored to be planning to activate that clause in the New Year in an attempt to get ahead of teams like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the competition for Osimhen’s services.
It’s thought that Pochettino is searching for a prolific
target-man with a physical presence, and Osimhen certainly fits that profile having established himself as one of Europe’s most lethal strikers since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020.
The Nigeria international has scored 67 goals in 119 appearances for Napoli across all competitions, including 26 strikes in 32 Serie A matches last season to win the Golden Boot and help the Italian outfit clinch their first Scudetto title for 33 years.
