Ronnie O’Sullivan criticized his rival for withdrawing from the Scottish Open, expressing a ‘disrespectful’ rant.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with his withdrawal from the Scottish Open.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has denied withdrawing from the Scottish Open due to a physical altercation with Liam Graham, who was set to face him in Edinburgh. The World Snooker Tour announced that O’Sullivan would be absent due to medical reasons just hours before his scheduled match.
Graham, a home favorite, eagerly awaited the chance to compete against the sport’s greatest-ever player, who had recently won the UK Championship.
The Scottish Open organizers were forced to find a last-minute replacement after 48-year-old O’Sullivan pulled out of the event at 11:45. The decision came after O’Sullivan hinted at missing the event after winning over Ding Junhui at the Barbican in York. Graham, frustrated as his family and friends had taken time off work to watch O’Sullivan, was upset at the withdrawal.
Graham expressed his disappointment after receiving a bye to the next round, stating that his opponent’s behavior was disrespectful and not right. He expressed disappointment that many people took time off work to watch the match, which was disappointing for him. Graham found out about the incident at the venue, stating that he had no prior warning and that he would have stayed home and the people who had travelled to watch him another day.
O’Sullivan has denied any disrespectful behavior towards his opponent and is currently feeling well. He stated that he was not fully prepared for the Scottish Open after the UK Championship, which was a challenging and demanding event. He has since clarified his condition.
