Tottenham transfer news: Ange Postecoglou is set to be a busy man in the final 48 hours of the summer transfer window
-
There is still plenty to do in North London before the window closes later today. Spurs have been active in the transfer market, adding James Maddison, Micky van de Ben, Guglielmo Vicario, and Alejo Veliz to bolster Ange Postecoglou.
But there may still be work to be done, as Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest is expected to be the next person through the door. Having said that, football.london has looked at eight players who SkyBet has predicted Tottenham would sign before September 3, 2023, at various odds.
In recent days, Tottenham has increased their interest in Forest winger Johnson. Spurs can now pursue the Wales international after Brentford decided to withdraw from the competition.
Additionally, he precisely matches Ange Postecoglou’s requirements for his attacking players. It’s obvious that the North Londoners will win the forward.
Conor Gallagher – 5/2
Chelsea midfielder Gallagher has been a player linked with a move to Spurs throughout the summer window. He has been a constant figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s XI this season, though it’s said the Blues are willing to listen to offers of around £50m.
Spurs are favourites to land the England international, with a move to Bayern Munich a close second at 12/1.
Dusan Vlahovic – 7/1
Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich means a host of strikers are set to be linked with a late move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Juventus’ Vlahovic is one of them names, with the Serbian tipped for a move to the Premier League.
Of all the clubs interested in the striker, Spurs are the favourites (7/1) with Chelsea behind at 8/1. However, SkyBet seem to strongly believe that he will stay in Turn.
Eberechi Eze – 8/1
Eze’s future at Crystal Palace has been in doubt for the majority of the summer after his impressive 2022/23 season. Following the news of Michael Olise’s contract extension, rumours have only intensified.
Manchester City are favourites to sign Eze at 2/1, with Tottenham at 8/1.
Kaoru Mitoma – 10/1
A signing who would excite the Tottenham fanbase. Mitoma has set the world alight in the Premier League with Brighton, but the Seagulls are very unlikely to allow another one of their star assets leave the club having left Moises Caicedo join Chelsea.
City are favourites at 13/2. Spurs are backed at 10/1, above Liverpool who are priced at 12/1.
Douglas Luiz – 12/1
Villa’s Brazilian midfielder was the subject of interest from Arsenal this time last season, who saw a number of bids swiftly turned down by his club.
As we’ve seen throughout the window, quality midfield pivots are hot property. Liverpool are favourites at 4/1, with Arsenal also ahead of Tottenham at 8/1.
Harry Maguire – 16/1
Tottenham have improved their defence this summer with the signing of Micky van de Ven. However, there could still be further reinforcements amid continued uncertainty over Davison Sanchez’s future.
Maguire hasn’t featured for Man United after clearly falling down Erik ten Hag’s pecking order. A departure for West Ham is still the favourable move ith bookmakers while Tottenhamare priced at 16/1 alongside Newcastle.
Lautaro Martinez – 16/1
Another Serie A striker linked with a move to England. Inter’s Martinez seems to be linked with a move to Spurs nearly every window but, this time, there’s a clear path for him to become the club’s first-choice striker.
