‘Very sorry’ – Embarrassed Tottenham star james apologise after what he did
James Maddison experienced a problem with his headphones during a post-match interview, which prompted SKY SPORTS to issue an apology.
After scoring Spurs’ second goal in the team’s 2-0 victory over Fulham, the Tottenham star had conversations with Dave Jones, Jamie Carragher, and Gary O’Neil
It was Maddison’s first home goal for the club and it helped Ange Postecoglou’s side regain top spot in the Premier League.
So it was no surprise Maddison was buzzing after the match – and he was not going to let technical difficulties spoil his evening.
Maddison, 26, complained he was getting interference in his headphones as he could hear an interview with Fulham boss Marco Silva.
Carragher burst out laughing and asked the midfielder: “What’s he saying?”
With a deft retort, Maddison said, “I believe Maddison’s goal was excellent.”
The Monday Night Football team laughed at that, and Jones later pledged to make things right.
Shortly after, the problem with the headphones was resolved, enabling Maddison to finish his conversation with the Sky Sports crew.
The England international talked about how his second-half goal came about as a result of Spurs’ high-pressing strategy under Postecoglou.
Maddison has been a revelation since moving to North London and now has three goals and five assists in nine Prem games.
He also remarked on his darts-throwing celebration, with Maddison a big fan of the sport.
