Leeds United given fresh hope of landing Tottenham defender Joe Rodon after comments in last 24 hours
Leeds United have been given fresh hope of landing Tottenham defender Joe Rodon on a permanent deal after comments made by the centre-back.
Rodon arrived at Elland Road on a season’s loan in August after the Whites failed in their attempt to land the Welshman on a permanent deal.
That was unsurprising given Tottenham were after a whopping £50million [Phil Hay], which was never possible for a Championship side
However, should the Whites earn promotion back to the Premier League, that deal would then become more realistic.
Indeed, with Rodon due to be in the final year of his Spurs contract come the end of this season, that valuation will surely plummet.
And Leeds have a good shot at landing the 26-year-old if an interview he gave to the Yorkshire Evening Post [13 November] is anything to go by
Since the first day I walked through the doors [Daniel Farke’s] been incredible and he made me feel right at home,” Rodon said.
“I know exactly what style he likes. It suits me down to the ground.
“The standards he demands every day are exceptional and important. I’m loving every minute of it, long may it continue this whole season.
If Leeds do indeed go straight back up, bringing in Rodon on a permanent deal has to be a priority for those high up at the club.
Leeds and Rodon are a match made in heaven, and let’s just hope the partnership lasts more than one season
