Journalist shares what could stop Leeds from getting promoted this season
Leeds United could finally pay the price for their slow start to the current season by being promoted in the second half of the campaign.
This is journalist Justin Allen, who believes the first month’s results could have huge long-term consequences for the Yorkshire club.
The White Devils have recovered from a shaky start to the season by winning five of their last six games, most recently beating league leaders Leicester City 1-0 on Friday.
The huge result leaves Daniel Farke’s side seven points behind second-placed Ipswich Town, but also comfortably in the Play-Off places.
“Farke faced a lot of chaos when he entered Elland Road,” Allen wrote in a recent column.
“And he could only field the part of the team he had because some precious lambs, responsible for the team’s demise, didn’t want to lock him into the Championship.
“It was only towards the end of the transfer window that Leeds started recruiting properly and once that transfer window closed they had a team that was a definite winner in terms of quality.
“The first month of the season could leave the club struggling in May – but if that happens the German cannot be blamed.
