Princess Royal witnessed the snooker championship final. According to Mark Selby, Judy Trump triumphed in Belfast, claiming the Northern Ireland Open in spectacular fashion. He won the tenth frame following an incredible seven-cushion pot on the pink, which put him on the black. Three ranking titles in a row have only been won by four players in snooker history, and the 34-year-old is undoubtedly at the top of his game right now.
Trump won 9-3 on Sunday, with Chris Wakelin and him splitting the final two frames. He appeared invincible as he accepted an £80,000 cash award. His best frame came with a commanding break of 125, leading 7-2 and featuring an amazing pot on the pink as he circled the table to land on the black.
Before firing off seven cushions and sending the pink to the middle pocket with force, Trump positioned himself to pot the black to thunderous applause at Waterfront Hall. Wakelin shared the crowd’s applause after chuckling away in admiration of Trump.
Trump retaliated with a 129 break, his best performance of the match, but Wakelin answered by winning the following frame.
Ronnie O’Sullivan has informed Trump that, despite his incredible recent performance, he still has a long way to go before he can be regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
O’Sullivan insisted that Trump must win more World Snooker Championships in order to join the Rocket alongside players like John Higgins and Stephen Hendry.
“You need to elevate him,” O’Sullivan stated to Eurosport. “He has numerous ranking event victories. He has played consistently well and has won numerous tournaments and finals.
However, Judd needs to win four world titles in order to truly rise to the level of the all-time greats. Four UKs and three or four more Masters. He is adequate. It’s where you get judged by others. I believe he’ll desire to win five or six world championships.”
Trump’s lone victory in the Crucible final came against Higgins in 2019, but based on his current performance, he is obviously confident in his abilities and feels that he can defeat any player on the tour. His exhibition shot in the final is
