The Eagles quarterback didn’t miss any practice time this week despite a helmet injury to his left knee aggravating a pre-existing bone bruise.
Since the quarterback was spotted sporting a brace during the second half of the Dolphins game, there has been a great deal of conjecture regarding the severity of Jalen Hurts’ knee injury. The Eagles quarterback has actually been battling a bone bruise in his left knee for the past week, according to Jay Glazer, who made this announcement during Sunday’s pregame show. The knee brace was prompted after Hurts sustained a helmet injury to the same knee in Week 7.
Hurts has been playing through it, as Glazer points out, and hasn’t missed any practices, which explains why his name never appeared on the injury report.
Many said that Hurts didn’t look entirely at ease running and that his bursts of speed weren’t quite as strong as they should have been during the first half against the Dolphins. Now that we have a little more knowledge, we understand why.
The quarterback’s availability for the Commanders game earlier in the week was questioned by Hurts and head coach Nick Sirianni, but it became clear that he wouldn’t miss their Week 8 divisional matchup when he didn’t appear on the injury report.
