Tottenham Hotspur ended matchday 9 retaining their top spot in the Premier League table following a 2-0 win over Fulham on Monday night.
Goals from Heung-min Son and James Maddison ensured that Spurs remained unbeaten and on top of the log as their impressive start to the 2023-24 league campaign under manager Ange Postecoglou continued.
Son opened the scoring in the 36th minute to take his goal involvement in the Premier League this season to eight having bagged seven goals and one assist, and Jamie Carragher was full of praise for the South Korean international forward on Monday Night Football.
“We are looking at one of the best players in the Premier League for a long time, what a sensational player,” the Sky Sports pundit said
Fulham lost the ball inside their own half and Richarlison quickly gave it to Son on the edge of the box, and the visitors could not recover quickly enough as Son shifted it out of his feet before bending a wonderful effort into the top right corner.
The 31-year-old scored just ten league goals last term but has stepped up since Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich in the summer and could surpass the 23 league goals (his highest tally in a season for Tottenham in the Premier League) he bagged in 2021-22 if he maintains the current form.
