Storm Babet’s chaos at King’s Cross Station prevented some Southampton fans from attending the match.
After coming on as Stuart Armstrong’s replacement on minute 84, Fraser scored his first goal for Southampton with a volley that went past Ryan Allsop to enthrall the crowd.
The 29-year-old was quick to thank the supporters for their part in the victory and for making the challenging journey to Hull in an interview with the Daily Echo following the game.

While Fraser admitted he enjoys the feeling of late winners, he conceded he would prefer to win games in a comfortable manner.
“If you ask me if I’d rather have a late winner or a convincing win, I’d rather have the late winner in a way because it gives the fans an extra sense of delight,” he beamed.
“The lads can go over to the fans and we can celebrate together. Don’t get me wrong, for 99 per cent of the season I’d like to win games 5-0, but that just doesn’t happen in football.
“This is a great confidence boost for all of the lads, we are on a four-game unbeaten run now.
“Rotherham wasn’t the result that we wanted, but you have to look at it as a point and move on from it. You learn from those and we are still unbeaten.”
