Micah Richards claims that Nottingham Forest’s defensive positioning let them down in their 2-2 draw with Luton Town at the City Ground.
Chris Wood scored a brace to put Forest comfortably ahead before the visitors were given a point. Chiedozie Ogbene and Elijah Adebayo scored goals as a result of defensive blunders, and Elijah Adebayo scored the equalizer in stoppage time.
After the final whistle, some fans raised their voices in response to boos. Richards commented on Match of the Day, analyzing the outcome: “It was a fantastic comeback.
“A lot of people thought Luton was gone, but I think they can still make an impact.
“They were excellent with set pieces and very straightforward. It was a nothing ball that entered, and Forest’s defense was terrible. When [Serge] Aurier stumbles, it’s okay because [Harry] Toffolo doesn’t react and the six players are waiting to see if anything will happen.
“Excellent finish from [Chiedozie] Ogbene, but this one is even worse for the defense because [Joe] Worrall has to drop in to the left if your center half wins a header. I must consider the defensive angle; that area, with the touch and finish, was worthy.
