Regarding Jadon Sancho’s future with Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano has updated us.
After criticizing manager Erik ten Hag during his 30-minute cameo against Forest, the 23-year-old hasn’t appeared on the field for the team.
Sancho was dropped from the first team after making the claim in a social media statement that he was the “scapegoat” at the team.
The winger is expected to leave in January, according to journalist Romano, with Steve Cooper’s team being the reported destination.
Romano’s update might be beneficial for Forest.
Sancho might try to leave Old Trafford in January, but the Reds might not have the money to pay the amount United might ask.
Although Forest already has two Premier League loanees—Andrey Santos of Chelsea and Nuno Tavares—a loan move might be an option, but one of them would have to return to their parent club.
Santos has started just once since joining on loan from Chelsea, and the 19-year-old is reportedly unhappy with his playing time at the City Ground.
Given Sancho’s relationship with current Reds boss Cooper, a move in January may be unlikely – but can’t be ruled out.
A costly transaction for Sancho
There is precedent for a troubled United team traveling to the City Ground; Jesse Lingard made the same move last summer.
Although a deal for Sancho would be extremely unlikely, should Forest decide to pursue the 23-year-old, he could prove to be a sensational option provided he doesn’t make it with United manager ten Hag.
