This season, Raheem Sterling has been Chelsea’s standout player thus far.
TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent says as much.
Despite being left out of the England team during the current international break, Raheem Sterling has had a strong start to the season in Chelsea colors.
The Daily Mail reports that the £50 million winger has started seven of the first eight Premier League games of the season and has scored three goals thus far.
When the Blues play Arsenal in the league this Saturday night, we most certainly expect him to be involved.
Darren Bent is a big fan of Sterling’s recent Chelsea shirt appearances.
“Sterling appears to be getting a little bit more excited. This year, he’s been their best player, Bent said to talkSPORT.
By the way, Chris Sutton recently acknowledged that the speedster is working for him.
Ahead of Chelsea vs. Arsenal, Sutton told BBC Sport, “Sterling in particular is looking dangerous.”
Despite an uneven start to the season, Chelsea supporters will have been hoping for some better performances from the team. Nevertheless, there have been some encouraging developments.
Sterling is undoubtedly one of Chelsea’s best players thus far this season, in our opinion.
As one of the more experienced players in a very young team, the 28-year-old will be expected to take the lead and mentor the others.
It would be great for him to be in good goalscoring form this season as he has shown for many years that he is a potent scorer in England’s top division.
Conor Gallagher, Robert Sanchez, and Axel Disasi, among others, can be reasonably satisfied with how they have begun the season as XI mainstays. Cole Palmer appears to be a very intriguing addition for the summer as well!
Chelsea’s matchup with the league-leading Arsenal this weekend at Stamford Bridge will be their toughest test yet.
