After pursuing Galatasaray star Kerem Akturkoglu for some time, Tottenham Hotspur will now have to contend with Nottingham Forest, a Premier League team, for his services.
English supporters were captivated by the 24-year-old’s incredible display at Old Trafford, as Galatasaray unexpectedly defeated Manchester United 3-2. In addition to scoring his team’s second goal of the evening, Akturkoglu had a performance that made other teams pay attention.
One such team is Nottingham, who has had their eye on the Turkish star since the summer. Galatasaray rejected an offer from the Tricky Trees for the 24-year-old. They are now anticipated to pick up the chase again in January 2024, when it reopens.

TeamTalk (via Nottingham Post) claims that Nottingham has made every indication that they plan to battle Tottenham for the player’s signature. They won’t be in the fight alone, though, as Aston Villa, West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Everton are among the eight Premier League teams participating.
The Turkish international can play any position along the front lines, but his primary position is left wing. Ange Postecoglou will benefit greatly from this versatility since it will allow him to use Son Heung-min up front.
Acquiring Akturkoglu will enable Tottenham to play their finest forward in a position where his goal-scoring instincts can be fully used. Tottenham has failed to replace Harry Kane sufficiently. Midway through the season, bringing in a player of the 24-year-old’s caliber could prove to be pivotal.

Galatasaray has already been contacted by Spurs, who have even requested authorization to speak with the player. We hope that Daniel Levy and company will move quickly enough to outmaneuver the other factions in the battle.
Players will be more likely to transfer to the N-17 as long as Postecoglou continues to turn the team’s fortunes on the field. Akturkoglu should be among them, hopefully.
