The scheduled match between Nottingham Forest and Luton Town is still set to take place, even though Storm Babet is causing chaos throughout the nation.
The team is hoping that the weather won’t affect Saturday’s Premier League game at the City Ground. However, they are keeping a close eye on the situation and keeping in touch with Nottinghamshire Police and local councils.
The heavy rain that has persisted has caused flooding in several areas of Nottinghamshire. There have been travel disruptions due to the closure of several county roads, and some bus routes have been rerouted.
On Saturday, the Reds led by Steve Cooper will take on the Hatters at 3 p.m. With the summertime improvements to the drainage system and the resurfacing of the City Ground pitch, Forest is hopeful that the match will proceed.
Against Luton, Forest will be looking to resume their winning ways. Before the international break, they had not won in four games; their 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace was their second straight draw.
Regarding the Hatters, Cooper remarked, “They have players who can make a difference in the way they play.” It’s a Premier League game, so everything has to be at an extremely high standard.
“We must put our own needs first. Now that everyone has returned from their overseas assignments and without their usual preparation, we must make sure we quickly catch up. There can be no justifications for this. In order to make the desired impact, we aim to start the game strong.
