Chelsea defender Levi Colwill was photographed back in first tram training today, ahead of the Premier League’s resumption this weekend.
The Blues released a video on their official Twitter page showing the 20-year-old returning to the squad despite having been in the England squad for less than 24 hours.
Colwill made his debut for his country over the international break as Gareth Southgate experimented with a number of new players over the two games.
He was on the bench last night as Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford led the Three Lions to a victory over Italy.
This appearance has followed him featuring in every game so far this season for Chelsea, clearly impressing Mauricio Pochettin in the process.
This has been predominantly at left-back, which until this season had been out of position for the youngster.
He has come in for plenty of praise as a result, being described as ‘amazing’ by his manager in the process.
Therefore, the Argentine will no doubt be delighted to already be working with Colwill again as he works towards putting a team out for the return of domestic football.
Arsenal are going to be the visitors at Stamford Bridge, no doubt bringing the toughest test for these Chelsea players all across the pitch.
If Colwill starts at left-back, he will be one of those as he welcomes the task of facing Bukayo Saka down that side.
However, with Chelsea’s multiple injury concerns at the back he may well find his way slotting into the centre of defence, where he could find himself up against former Blue Kai Havertz.
