Latest Nottingham Forest news from NottinghamshireLive as Chris Wood discusses his lack of playing time in the Premier League so far this season
Chris Wood has vowed to “keep working hard” in an effort to crack the starting lineup for Nottingham Forest.
The 31-year-old striker has only made one Premier League start for the Reds so far this season, coming on in place of an injured Taiwo Awoniyi in their most recent match against Crystal Palace. Additionally, he has made seven substitute appearances and scored the game-winning goal at the City Ground in August against Sheffield United.
Following his departure from Newcastle United, Wood acknowledges that he needs more playing time. Awoniyi has earned his spot on the team, and he has made it obvious he trusts manager Steve Cooper’s judgment.

Anthony Elanga summarizes the Forest transfer and makes a shocking Man Utd accusation.
I personally would like to be playing more, but I’ll simply keep putting in the effort to make that team again, he stated. I’ll continue to work hard in training to push T (Awoniyi), who lately had the starting position and justifiably so given how well he is performing.
“I’d like to think he feels the same with me. There’s no bad feeling about who starts and who comes on — we all respect the manager’s decision and want to see each other do well. We also have Divock (Origi) hoping to get minutes too and other players who can play up front,” he added. “Between us we all want to be playing but we know we have to be patient for opportunities sometimes.”
