Matt Turner, a goalkeeper for Nottingham Forest, has received accolades for his performance for the USA against Germany yesterday night. Despite their valiant effort, the United States lost 3-1.
During the summer transfer window, the stopper joined the Reds. Turner has been Forest’s starting goalkeeper this season for under £7 million after joining from Arsenal.
Turner will be eager to keep Forest with the gloves for the foreseeable future. Last season, he only made seven appearances for the Gunners, but he is now obviously thriving thanks to regular playing time.
Turner, a Forest star, is praised for his international performance.
Last night, the 29-year-old had a full schedule. He was unable to stop Germany from winning the friendly match, but he was able to improve the score.
Turner’s performance received an 8/10 rating from CBS Sports. They stated: “Forced into being aggressive to guard
the box, Turner was one of the finest players for the USMNT which is a bad thing in a loss. It was a score that was fully deserved. A handful of his attacks were sparked by his distribution, but players in front of him let him down.
Turner will now try to hold onto his spot on the club. Prior to the goalkeeper’s return to Forest ahead of Saturday’s match against Luton, the USA play Ghana on Wednesday.
Turner stars in routine action
It’s amazing what playing time, especially for a goalkeeper, can do for a player’s self-confidence. Turner obviously appears much more collected these days, which isn’t really a surprise.
The guy took advantage of his opportunity to join Forest at a time when they didn’t really have a senior goalie. He hasn’t turned back, and he’s now regarded as the Forest’s top dog.
Turner is still learning how the Premier League operates in certain respects. However, there are many positive things to say about the athlete, and we hope he can continue to deliver top-notch performances.
