Heung-Min Son has been nominated for the September EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month award.
Sonny, our captain, had a fantastic September, scoring six goals in six games as we maintained our unbeaten start to the season.
Sonny made the perfect start to September after being switched to the central striker role for our first outing of the month, a trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley, scoring a hat-trick, his first in a year, as we ran out 5-2 winners.
He then became the first Spurs player in Premier League history to score a brace at the Emirates when we drew 2-2 in the north London derby – his second goal was his 150th in our colours – before scoring his 200th senior club goal against Liverpool in Saturday’s thrilling 2-1 triumph.
Our number seven is vying for the award for the fourth time, having previously won it in September, 2016, April, 2017, and October, 2020 – and it could be just the fourth time in our history that our players have won it in consecutive months after James Maddison was named Player of the Month for August.
To win the award, he must defeat Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez, West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen, Wolves’ Pedro Neto, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier, and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
But, as always, you can help Sonny win Player of the Month by voting for him at the link below. Voting is currently live and will end at noon on Monday, October 9th.
