According to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest will risk legal action from players and agents if bonuses and commissions are not paid by the end of August.
According to the Daily Mail, Forest owes millions to players in outstanding payments.
The Premier League club is reportedly owed extra payments, including survival bonuses, to players who departed the club this summer.
Players’ agents are also exploring legal action after failing to get transfer commission payments.
According to Football Insider, Forest has told present and past players that incentives would be paid in full by August 31.
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis orchestrated an unparalleled number of signings last year, bringing in 30 new players over both transfer windows.
Those signings have resulted in a considerable amount of agent fees owed to the club, while the vast majority of players are poised to be rewarded for escaping relegation.
Forest finished 16th in 2022/23 after recovering from a terrible start to the season under Steve Cooper.
This summer, the East Midlands club has already began to wipe out its team, with seven players going for free.
Despite Forest’s reduced spending, Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga moved to the City Ground this summer for a cost of £15 million.
Steve Cooper has also made Chris Wood a permanent member of his squad, while Sam Surridge’s £5 million sale to MLS side Nashville is the only money Forest have received from player sales this summer.
If bonuses are not paid by the end of August, the club may face legal action and winding-up petitions.
In other developments, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest have been granted ‘massive’ contracts. Tyler Adams has been updated.
