Backstage News On WWE’s Plans For The Viking Raiders’ Ivar
During Monday’s broadcast of RAW, Wade Barrett made the announcement that Erik, one-half of the tag team the Viking Raiders, is out injured “for the foreseeable future.”
Ivar, Erik’s partner, lost to Xavier Woods in a singles match on the same program. He will now compete in a “Viking Rules” match against Kofi Kingston on the upcoming Monday.
Erik is anticipated to be gone for several months, according to Dave Meltzer’s article in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He noted:
“The decision was made because Ray Rowe [Erik] is out after surgery, said to be for at least six months, is to push Ivar as a singles player. In the past when one member of a tag team that’s usually an exclusive team gets hurt, they’ve just not used the other much.”
