According to Jamie Carragher, a 25-year-old Newcastle player has recently been assisting his kid.
Sean Longstaff of Newcastle United has reportedly been supporting his son’s recent injury recovery, according to Jamie Carragher.
Carragher was speaking after Newcastle’s amazing victory over PSG on CBS Sports.
Longstaff and Dan Burn were being interviewed by the pundit when he mentioned how much the midfielder had been contributing.
“Can I just jump in there, I don’t really know the lads that well but I just wanted to mention this,” Carragher stated.
Sean, how recently did I call you—was it a year ago?
“Basically, my son was having some injury issues; he had experienced similar issues, didn’t know him, but managed to get his number and kept in touch; amazing on the phone.
“We talked about how being a football player has its ups and downs and how working hard pays off.
“Tonight, mate, is your reward, one for overcoming the injury, but I also have to thank you for helping me and my son.”
James Carragher is a 20-year-old defender who presently competes for Wigan Athletic, in case anyone was wondering.
Carragher was so happy to see Longstaff thriving at Newcastle
Carragher wasn’t alone in praising the Newcastle man after the game.
Eddie Howe was also full of compliments for Longstaff after his strong performance against the Parisians.
Howe said that Longstaff was so reliable and had been brilliant ever since he was appointed.
And all of this praise from Carragher and his boss must only be the tip of the iceberg for Longstaff after an historic Newcastle night.
The whole squad must be inundated with celebrations right now.
However, Howe will surely be reminding his side that their reaction against West Ham United on Sunday is just as important.
The famed ‘European hangover’ is known for a reason, and Newcastle and Longstaff will have to learn to manage their schedule.
