Brandi Rhodes addresses some misconceptions regarding her departure from All Elite Wrestling.
When AEW began operations in 2019, Brandi Rhodes and her husband, Cody Rhodes, both became employees. In addition to serving as the company’s chief brand officer, Brandi has occasionally appeared on television. In February 2022, Cody and Brandi both left the AEW. At WrestleMania 38, Cody eventually joined the WWE again, while Brandi has been preoccupied with other endeavors.
Before leaving AEW, Brandi Rhodes spoke with DS of Ring The Belle about her on-screen spat with Dan Lambert.
The packed crowd had a lot of fun with Brandi Rhodes’ description of him as a “Paul Heyman wannabe,” she claimed. They were having a blast. It then started to get a little less amusing when discussions on various parts of the internet erupted around X, Y, and Z. Cody and I had our reasons for leaving, and I believe that’s where you end up with Dan kind of backing off. None of them included that.
Brandi Rhodes Talks About the AEW Exit
Brandi Rhodes went on to talk openly about leaving AEW. She explained that she had not quit because of the Dan Lambert parts. Before she and Cody made the decision to depart, Rhodes added that she was talking with AEW.
“I’m going to say, someone earlier asked me what I might say about why you left. Brandi Rhodes stated that Cody was given the opportunity to speak truth in the documentary. “I was unable to say that. Since I am unable to express some other things, I would like to say something untrue. It’s untrue to say that I was angry by the Dan Lambert segments because we departed. That is untrue.
Dan said, “I was there for everything. I liked it, and there were a few points when I was on the verge of laughing. This guy. I was not going to receive a new contract, which is the other thing that is untrue. Both of us were actively attempting to determine the terms of our contracts. It was therefore untrue that they simply wanted to renew Cody’s contract and opted not to renew mine, which is why Cody left. It’s untrue. So you can cross those two items off your list.
Cody previously stated that he left AEW because of a personal issue, but no other information has been provided.
