ANGE POSTECOGLOU SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED WITH £22M TOTTENHAM PLAYER
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, praised captain Son Heung-min for his two goals against Arsenal this afternoon.
Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, described Son Heung-min as “outstanding.”
In search of a significant victory over rivals Arsenal, Tottenham traveled to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Before Son Heung-min scored from James Maddison’s assist to tie the score at 1, Bukayo Saka’s deflected shot gave Arsenal the lead.
Prior to Son demonstrating his finishing prowess once more by bringing Tottenham even off of another Maddison pass, Saka restored Arsenal’s lead from the penalty spot.
Son will appreciate the praise that is coming his way because Tottenham were deserving of their 2-2 draw.
Ange Postecoglou hails Son Heung-min
Following Son’s performance against the Gunners, Tottenham manager Postecoglou made the decision to compliment him.
Son was appointed club captain of Tottenham by the Australian after Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich.
Son has undoubtedly made a difference, flourishing whether he is playing from the left side or, as has been the case more recently, from the center of Tottenham’s assault.
Son, who struggled under Antonio Conte, would likely acknowledge that the previous season was one of his worst while playing for Tottenham.
Postecoglou, who adores Son as a player and as a leader, has praised him as “outstanding” as he is now performing at his peak.
Son’s work ethic in the Spurs attack and selflessness as a striker have been commended by Postecoglou, who thinks Son is leading from the front.
“He’s been outstanding as a leader and a player,” remarked Son. “Now that I’ve moved him to the nine position, he just works so hard. His first consideration is what is best for the team, and he positions himself accordingly before having the ability to complete. I’m overjoyed for him. Sonny is spearheading that with Madders and Romero, when I talk about that amazing environment with the guys,” he continued.
Son’s impressive record against Arsenal continues
Son met Arsenal in the Premier League for the 17th time in today’s encounter.
With the two goals, Son has now scored six goals and contributed to five more against Arsenal, continuing to be a huge headache for the team.
After a challenging season the previous year, the 31-year-old is really stepping up in the absence of Kane and reaffirming his status as a top finisher.
Following a £22 million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, Son went without a goal in his first nine Premier League matches against Arsenal. However, he has since scored six goals in his past eight matches, turning into a genuine nemesis for the Gunners on derby day.
