When Leeds United hosts Watford on Saturday afternoon, they will be seeking their first home victory of the Championship season.
The Elland Road supporters will have waited 172 days to witness their team triumph in a league match on home soil by the time Leeds United’s match against Watford gets underway at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Leeds’ first league win came against Nottingham Forest on April 4, but a five-game undefeated streak and three straight clean sheets give them reason for hope after a difficult transition to life in the Championship.
Whites manager Daniel Farke witnessed a goalless draw at Hull City on Wednesday night, but he will have to make changes at the defense after Joe Rodon was sent off in the second half. After the Spurs loanee was dismissed at the MKM Stadium, Liam Cooper returned from injury to sit on the bench. He will be vying with Charlie Cresswell for a spot in the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev have been waiting for opportunities in the core of midfield that may now be opening up given the nature of the Championship calendar, and Farke may be tempted to recall Sam Byram at left-back.
