Armel Bella-Kotchap’s arrival at PSV Eindhoven has continued to excite the club, with manager Peter Bosz now complimenting the defender.
Following the defender’s loan signing at the conclusion of the summer transfer window, Bosz has been speaking about the center-back today in remarks carried by Algemeen Dagblad.
Following Southampton’s relegation to the Championship last season, Bella-Kotchap had appeared likely to return to Germany this summer.
That deal fell through, though, and he instead ended up securing a late move to PSV Eindhoven, who had been scouring the market for a replacement for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite for much of the summer.
But when that deal fell through, he wound up landing a last-minute transfer to PSV Eindhoven, who had spent much of the summer looking for a replacement for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite.
Since the transaction was completed, it has received a great deal of praise, and the Netherlands has made multiple assertions that the Southampton man has made an excellent first impression.
Bosz has now added to that, admitting that he has been left more than impressed by what he has seen during this international break.
For two weeks, I observed Bella-Kotchap on the practice field. I believe we made the proper choice. But a game is not like a training session, he continued.
“Football intelligence is my top priority. Next come the physical properties. We will have to get to know him even better to see if he has that football intelligence. What I have seen from him on the ball is excellent.”
Aston Villa’s new signing, already miffed by Emery’s actions, said to him bluntly, “Situation is not pleasant.”
