Jaden Philogene-Bidace, a recent addition to Hull City, may be scheduled to make his debut this weekend after impressing head coach Liam Rosenior in practice, the boss himself has stated.
On the final day of the transfer window, Philogene, who had already played for Aston Villa this season in the Premier League, switched teams and joined the Tigers. According to TeamTalk, the 21-year-old signed a four-year contract with City, and £5 million was also reportedly agreed upon by the two teams.
Tyler Morton, a young Liverpool player who joined on a temporary basis and will return to the English powerhouses at the end of the season, also moved to the MKM Stadium at the same time as Philogene.
However, neither have yet made their Hull City debuts, particularly the expensively acquired Philogene. The former Cardiff City loanee is expected to get the ball rolling this weekend when the Humberside club hosts Coventry City in front of a home crowd, according to manager Rosenior’s hints.
The former Derby County interim manager was quoted by Hull Live as saying:
He’s great. When you see a player in person after working so hard to acquire them, it’s one thing to view them from a distance. He has increased our excitement, and I can’t wait to watch him play, whether it’s from the bench (or the beginning).
“He’s had a decent pre-season, so he’s someone I know has the level and fitness to start the game,” the coach said. “But what I want him to do is understand everything that’s expected of him, but he’s not far away from starting.”
Author’s Opinion
Nearly two weeks ago on deadline day, Philogene joined the team but was unable to attend the 1-0 victory over Leicester City. However, it is expected that the home crowd will now be able to give him a warm welcome.
The attacker will be a great addition to Hull City’s team, so Rosenior will undoubtedly try to include him as soon as possible.
